Blooms, Bites, and Bouquets at Westerville Florist
Our adventure started off at the Westerville Florist – a shop that’s basically a fragrant hug for your senses. We decided to play Picasso with petals and whipped up our own floral masterpieces. Who knew arranging flowers could be such a blast?
From Cheese to Clay: The Artistic Shuffle
Things got interestingly gourmet as we had charcuterie and wine from Meza Wine Shop and took them over to Uptown Art & Clay. We unleashed our inner artists by crafting signature gnomes.Uptown Art & Clay had us channeling our inner sculptors as we created cute gnomes out of clay. It was like a grown-up version of playdough, and we felt like kids again.
A Renaissance Romance at Renaissance Westerville Hotel
After that, we checked into our hotel. Our crash pad for this adventure was the Renaissance Westerville Hotel, strutting the title of the #1 Renaissance in the country. Let’s just say we got a taste of the good life, and we didn’t want the flavor to fade.
Fourth Friday Fiesta: Music, Munchies, and More!
We didn’t leave Westerville without soaking up some of the local culture. Fourth Friday is like the town’s version of a block party that happens once a month for 8 months of the year – live music, food trucks dishing out everything you could think of, and vendors that make you wanna shop till you drop. Honestly, we’re just wondering how we can get this started in Cleveland.
Gastronomic Delights and Drinks to Die For
Our journey continued back at the Renaissance. Poolside lounging segued into a dining adventure at Two-One – a place where the menu isn’t just a list, it’s a proclamation of taste. The drinks? Let’s just say they were concoctions worthy of a standing ovation. Not to mention, the staff made up the cocktail menu and they even gave each one a special name that resonated with the history of Westerville in some unique way.
Can’t Feel Down in Uptown
The next morning we made sure to fill our bellies with the sweet treats from Schneider’s Bakery and the soul-soothing sips from Java Central Cafe. And let’s not forget the vibrant Farmers Market that brought the town’s heartbeats under one roof. If you go to Westerville, checkout Cinda Lou, a locally-owned treasure trove that screams nostalgia from the 80’s and 90’s in every corner.
Playtime and Nature’s Embrace
We wrapped up with lunch at ‘Can’t believe it’s Vegan’ which made sense because we actually couldn’t believe it. It was truly delicious. Our whirlwind of a weekend ended up with a bit of putt-putt action at Westerville Golf Center, followed by a leisurely stroll through Hoover Reservoir Park. It was a beautiful sunny day and a great way to end an amazing weekend.
